The Old Scotch Symphony Orchestra proudly presents our first performance of 2024, Reformation - an experience of cultural revival and transcendence to celebrate our long-awaited return following an extended COVID ...hiatus!
Be dazzled by soloist Tian Tian Lan’s majestic opening to Beethoven’s Emperor piano concerto, before being transported by Mendelssohn’s Reformation symphony, subtly entwined with religious tension and turmoil. We conclude with a triumphant celebration in Tchaikovsky’s patriotic 1812 Overture, captivating audiences with its striking orchestration, resounding bells and “cannons”.
